About the Role
Supporting the MSIM Alternatives business, the Global Head of Alternatives Marketing is responsible for driving, coordinating and executing a global marketing strategy. This leader oversees a team of channel, product and content marketing specialists and will partner closely with the heads of investment businesses, research, corporate communications, distribution and product development teams.
This spans all client channels, including US intermediary financial advisors, ex-US private wealth platforms predominately in Asia and Europe, and global institutions. Our channel marketing strategy includes internal and external email communications, newsletters, platform materials, events and sponsorships, all with the aim of supporting differentiated, region-specific, distribution initiatives. The team’s product marketing coverage spans private market and liquid alternative strategies, with an approach that is tailored to vehicle type, region and stage of lifecycle. Materials articulating the firm/team/fund value proposition include pitchbooks, webpages, fact cards, brochures. We are producing a variety of content across articles for industry publications, insights, white papers, social media posts, infographics, video scripts and investment outlooks, developed with the aim of amplifying the profiles of MSIM’s thought leaders in alignment with business and media priorities.
What you'll do in the role:
- Drive content strategy for MSIM’s global alternatives business.
- Lead geographically diverse team of channel, product and content marketing strategists.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to develop and execute campaigns that elevate MSIM’s position as a leader in the alternatives space.
- Develop and oversee externalization of a consistent narrative across strategies so MSIM delivers a uniform client experience across products, channels and geographies.
- Manage content calendar to ensure regular cadence of new content that can be amplified through social media and client segment newsletters.
- Participate in product development discussions to ensure coordinated roll-out of fund launch materials.
- Build foundational materials for MSIM’s nascent on-line educational platform, coordinating with external vendor.
- Serve as alternatives SME/point-person for MSIM- and firm-wide marketing initiatives.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Minimum of 15 years of asset management or financial services marketing.
- Strong knowledge of the alternative asset management industry, across regions, vehicle structures, asset classes, regulatory regimes and distribution channels.
- Experience building and managing diverse teams; passion for fostering talent.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across the organization.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills; ability to navigate and thrive in a matrixed, global organization.
- Player-coach mentality.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Ability to think creatively, conceptually, and strategically.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- CAIA or CFA certification preferred.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $225,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
